Terms of Service · ProofMyCert

These are the rules for using ProofMyCert. We've kept them short and readable on purpose.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using ProofMyCert, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.

2. Your account

You must be 16 or older to use ProofMyCert.
You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
One person, one account. Don't create duplicates to game the system.
You can delete your account at any time. We'll delete your data within 30 days.

3. What you can post

You can add certificates you've genuinely earned. You can write a bio about yourself. You can upload an avatar. That's it.

4. What you can't do

You can't use ProofMyCert to:

Submit fake certificates. If you didn't earn it, don't claim it.
Impersonate someone else. Pretending to be another person is fraud.
Harass or threaten others. This is a professional platform.
Upload illegal content. Including but not limited to adult content, malware, or pirated material.
Scrape or abuse the platform. Automated scraping, DDoS attempts, or attempts to bypass rate limits are prohibited.
Sell or transfer your account. Accounts belong to the person who created them.
Use the platform for spam. Cold-contacting recruiters or flooding others with messages.

5. Verification

We verify certificates to the best of our ability, but we can't guarantee 100% accuracy. Certificates are marked as Verified, Trusted, Under Review, or Rejected based on automated and manual checks.

If you believe a certificate has been incorrectly classified, contact us and we'll review it.

6. Recruiters

Recruiters can create accounts and unlock profiles to contact candidates. When you unlock a profile:

You get permanent access to that candidate's contact information while their account exists.
You can't share that information with third parties.
You can't use it for anything other than legitimate recruitment.
If the candidate deletes their account, you lose access without refund.

7. Payments and refunds

Paid plans (Pro for publishers, Recruiter for recruiters) are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time, and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.

We don't offer prorated refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access until the next billing date.

8. Content ownership

You own everything you post on ProofMyCert: your bio, your avatar, your certificates. We don't claim ownership of your content. We just have a license to display it on your public profile.

If you delete your account, we lose that license and delete your content.

9. Termination

We can suspend or delete your account if you violate these terms. We'll tell you why, and if it's a minor issue, we'll give you a chance to fix it.

Serious violations (fraud, harassment, illegal content) result in immediate termination without warning.

10. Liability

ProofMyCert is provided "as is." We're not liable for damages arising from:

Downtime or service interruptions.
Incorrect verification of a certificate.
Actions taken by recruiters or other users based on information on the platform.
Loss of data due to technical failures (we keep backups, but nothing is perfect).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and give you 30 days to review them before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Spain.
